The Government of Liberia (GOL) has commenced rehabilitation of two major road corridors, connecting Fish Town-Harper and Pyness Town-Greenville amidst the heavy rains.
The Ministry of Public Works has announced that the works are being executed by two Ivorian construction Companies M. THINET THAP RCL and SEK through a contract agreement.
Public Works Minister Samuel Kofi Woods in a joyful moon said the rehabilitation in the southeastern Liberia's in fulfillment of GOL promises to connect the seats of the 15 political sub-divisions by road, whether rain or shine.
Minister Woods disclosed that these works are closely monitored and supervised by the Ministry's engineers and road technicians assigned in the counties. He however explained that the two companies are rehabilitating critical sections of the two road corridors.
The Public Works boss asserted that M. THINET is currently rehabilitating the Fish Town-Harper road corridor, while SEK is rehabilitating Pynes Town-Greenville road. He said the cost of each is put at US$800,000.00.
Minister Woods said the scope of works include side brushing, grubbing and reshaping of critical sections of the road and the installation of several lines of reinforced concrete culverts ranging fron 24"% to 60"% among others. He added that the two projects are expected to be completed between four to six months.
